A Brave Little Turtle Chases A Lion Out Of A Drinking Fountain

Although the African lion is the king of beasts, this fearless little turtle does not bow down to him. The two lions who dared to drink from the drinking fountain do not impress or frighten the small creatures. The brave turtle tells the lion who is to blame in the now-viral video.

The drama unfolded in the Malamara Private Game Reserve in South Africa, where a thirsty pair of lions (male and female) approached the drinking fountain.

But it didn’t take long for me to realize they weren’t welcome… an arduous path Turtle, one of the basin’s residents, chased them away in a spectacular manner.

Reggi Barreto, a photographer and safari guide, captured the moment. Despite being a hundred times their size, the two lions had to think twice before confronting a brave turtle. The little man’s tenacity was finally rewarded, but the lion satisfied his thirst. He said, “It was an incredibly rare sighting for me to film.”
