This is the incredible moment a massive herd of over 50 elephants stopped traffic in Thailand to cross a highway. Drivers couldn’t believe what they were seeing as the majestic creature crossed the road peacefully.

After a group of park rangers tracked the elephant family earlier that day, a police unit was dispatched to the scene to ensure the elephants made it safely to the jungle. One of the drivers captured the spectacular scene on camera!

It didn’t take long for the herd to cross the road. The elephants, led by their strong matriarch, crossed the road and into a wild area in less than 40 seconds. The elephant family, including young calves, provided a spectacular sight for those gathered there.

“Over 50 wild elephants crossed the road. They were moving from one part of the jungle to another,” said Pratya Chutipat Sakul, who captured the moment on video. “The wildlife officers had been tracking the elephants for several days.”

Wildlife officials and park rangers kept an eye on the elephants for a few days, and when they realized their path would take them over the road, they contacted local authorities to ensure everyone’s safety.

“When rangers noticed that their path was heading towards the road, they immediately called the police and closed the road,” Sakul told MailOnline. “Police officers arrived to ensure that the elephants crossed safely and without incident.”

“No one minds waiting for the elephants as long as they’re safe. They were all so calm that they didn’t notice the humans. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have witnessed such an incredible sight.”
