Dog Reacts To Hearing His Owner’s Voice After Being Lost And Living On The Streets For 2 Years

Today’s story is about Bosco, a beagle mix who spent two years scavenging for food on the streets of Rhode Island after becoming lost and unable to find his way home. “He was leashed in the back yard and somehow he just got off the leash,” said Sheilah Graham, a volunteer with Missing Dogs of Massachusetts.

To survive, Bosco relied on instinct and sought assistance at nearby restaurants, where he was able to obtain food from nearby garbage. Sheilah put out a cage after learning about a stray dog in the neighborhood, and Bosco happily took the bait one night. Sheilah quickly tracked down Bosco’s owner, Bill, and gave him a call. “Hey Bill, do you know who this voice is?” she asked. When Bill heard Bosco barking in the background, he was taken aback. “Clearly, he’s a really extraordinary dog,” Bill said of Bosco’s tenacity.

She also set up a quick FaceTime call for the two because Bill had moved out of state. Because Bosco was too old to fly and Bill was incapacitated, Sheilah volunteered to drive the 2000 miles to reunite the couple in person. I’m relieved to hear that Bosco is on his way back to his family after such a long and difficult absence!
