The Vet Said The Paralyzed Puppy Had To Be Put Down Right Away, But Mom Refused

Avanti Fernandes was overjoyed when she was given the opportunity to raise Olive, a devoted Great Dane puppy. However, Olive became paralyzed from the neck down while playing in the park when she was only 4 months old.
Avanti took Olive to the hospital, where several tests were performed to determine the cause of the unexpected paralysis. Unfortunately, the tests revealed no underlying cause for the puppy’s sudden sickness. Olive should be put down immediately, according to the vet.
Avanti was having difficulty processing Olive’s heartbreaking situation. It broke her heart that her beloved puppy couldn’t kiss or cuddle with her any longer, but she wasn’t ready to give up on her just yet.
Avanti went to Belle Mead Animal Hospital in New Jersey and requested that the staff investigate Olive’s mysterious paralysis. Olive should receive physical therapy while the hospital’s specialist investigates her medical condition.
Olive started regular therapy sessions at the hospital right away, where her caregivers used water therapy, harness-walking, and support frames to strengthen her muscles.
Olive’s condition deteriorated on some days, causing the staff to fear for her life. Avanti and her family, on the other hand, were hopeful that Olive would be able to live the happy life she deserved.
Olive was able to run again after months of therapy thanks to custom-made wheels and some fabric support. A massage therapist had already offered to donate her services to the ailing puppy. Olive was able to walk independently again after only three massage sessions!
Olive is now a happy, tail-wagging dog who enjoys showering kisses on her family. Her vet bills have accumulated over the months to approximately $15,000, which the family is still struggling to pay. If you want to help Olive with her medical bills, you can go to her GoFundMe page here.
Olive’s story of survival, as well as her family’s never-say-die attitude, fills our hearts with hope. She is living proof that miracles do occur! Olive, keep smiling!
