When Unable To Go On Walks, A Golden Retriever Uses A Toilet Like A Human
When a dog is properly trained, it can do almost anything. When her owners aren’t available to take her outside, this astute golden retriever knows how to relieve herself. She is the best house trained dog around, leaving no messes. The only thing she can’t do is flush the toilet.
While many dogs have been observed drinking from the toilet bowl, Tokyo stands on her front paws and uses it as intended. “When she was little, I taught her,” Alejandro Rodriguez Corrales, 29, explained. “She belongs to my girlfriend, but I enjoy teaching her new tricks.”
Alejandro, a civil engineer in Alajuela, Costa Rica, described how he taught Tokyo to use the toilet. “At first, I’d raise her on the toilet and give her cookies every time she went,” he explained. It was a difficult and time-consuming procedure, but I remained patient.”
He admitted that teaching Tokyo how to use the toilet was difficult, but he persisted. He would first allow the dog to pee there, but not Tokyo, because it would be too difficult. Tokyo can now completely prop herself up on her front paws and use the toilet.
Tokyo, according to Alejandro, is very clean, she never leaves a mess in the bathroom. The only thing the dog is unable to do is flush. Tokyo is a very intelligent dog!
